Did You Know?

No, ants do not have lungs. They have little tiny holes that the air comes in through. Their air also goes out in the same holes.

 There is a history behind the lollipop company called Dum Dums. Did you know that that the reason it's called Dum Dums is because any little kid can say the names. That is actually pretty smart because the majority of the people that eat them are little kids.

 Did you know that Robert Wallow was and still is the tallest man in the world. He was born on February,22 1918 in Alton Illinois and died in 1940. He stood at 8ft 11in. Almost 9 feet tall!!  That's HUGE!!!! His foot size was 37AA, meaning his foot was 37 feet long and he had a narrow foot.

  Did you know that this is the lady that invented the board game Monopoly. Her name was Elizabeth "Lizzie" Magie, or Elizabeth J. Phillip. She got the game patented in 1904. Later, Charles Darrow came along and decided to modify the game and he took all of the credit for the game.

 Did you know that Switzerland is the only country that has a square flag. If you look at the picture above, you'll see that their flag is square, whereas the traditional flag is a rectangle. Wow, I sounded like a tour guide or something. 

 Did you know that this lady is the reason Granny Smith apples are called Granny Smith? Her name was Maria Ann "Granny" Smith. She was an British-Australian orchardist who found a Granny Smith seedling growing in her backyard. After this, the apples kept growing and growing and then Granny Smith apples were birthed :)

  Did you know that you have that military and David Rich to thank for McDonald's drive thrus? The reason is that the military soldiers were not allowed to be out in public while wearing their uniforms so they couldn't go inside the restaurant to get their food, but David Rich came up with an idea. He decided to cut a whole in the wall and provide the food to the soldiers in that way. Also if you were wondering, this all happened in 1975 at Sierra Vista, Arizona.
